Abimbola
Babalola, Okaybabs wife, owes her artististic inclinations
to her
surroundings and the rich cultural heritage of her country Nigeria
where she was born and raised.
Abimbola says concerning nature "I try to depict what the
Master Artist has bestowed unto us, I seek not to make it look better
because it is perfect, but to create an awareness as to the kind of
person He is - a God who has expressed it all in nature".
'Bimbola graduated from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos,
Nigeria specializing in Fashion and Textile Designing, but her
versatility is evidently expressed through her confident brush strokes
in her paintings.
Her works are in such mediums as acrylic, gouache (tempera),
watercolor and ink. Using geometrical shapes she shares the culture of
her country. She also writes poetry and classics.
She is presently a faculty member of the Babcock University
High
school, Ilesan Remo. When time permits you can be sure to find Abimbola
at her studio "Earth Angel Fashions" located in Abeokuta, Nigeria where
she paints and does fashion designing.
